The Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education

administers the Private Training Act and associated regulations. It is the regulatory body for

private career training institutions in BC and sets basic education standards for registered

private career training institutions in British Columbia. Royal Pacific Institute/Oshio College of Acupuncture and Herbology is an institution designated

by PTIB.

Royal Pacific Institute/Oshio College has been accredited by the Private Training Institutions Branch of the Ministry of Advanced Education Agency  (PTIB, Formerly PCTIA,  PPSEC ) since November, 2001.

The Education Quality Assurance (EQA) designation is British Columbia’s brand for

quality post-secondary education. EQA is a voluntary mechanism available to all eligible

post-secondary institutions in B.C. Royal Pacific Institute/Oshio College is an EQA-designated institution.



The British Columbia student aid program (StudentAid BC) offers loans, grants, bursaries and

scholarships to help pay for post-secondary education. To be eligible for student aid, you must attend a

designated institution and be enrolled in an eligible program. Royal Pacific Institute/Oshio College is a designated institution and our students may get BC and national student loan. You can get more information from

The College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of B.C. (CTCMA)  is the official professional licensing authority for Acupuncturists, Herbalists, TCM Practitioners, and Doctors of TCM in British Columbia, Canada. Oshio College’s programs are designed according to the educational by-law of CTCMA of B.C.
