Canadian Education Center of Hunan
University of Traditional Chinese Medicine starts
enrolling new students for Acupuncture Diploma,
Bachelor Degree or Master Degree of Medical Science
in TCM
Beginning in September 2006, the Center will be
offering programs for Acupuncture Diploma, Bachelor
Degree of Science in TCM and Master Degree of
Science in TCM in Victoria, BC, Canada. Both these
diploma and degrees are from a Chinese University.
Students for Acupuncture Diploma: It is a 3-year associate degree
program. You will study 2 years at Oshio College of
Acupuncture and Herbology (OCAH) and 1 year in Hunan
University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (HUTCM).
After completing 2 years of study at OCAH and 1 year
of clinical work at HUTCM, you will receive a 3-year
acupuncture diploma (associate degree) issued by
HUTCM. You can then apply to write licensing exams
for Acupuncture in Canada and the United States. You
may finish this 3-year program within 2 years.
Admission Requirements for Acupuncture Diploma:
High school diploma
Students for Bachelor Degree in TCM: It is a 5-year program. You
will study 3 years at Oshio College of Acupuncture
and Herbology (OCAH) and 2 years in Hunan University
of Traditional Chinese Medicine (HUTCM).
Additionally, after completing 2 years of study at
OCAH and 1 year of clinical work at HUTCM, you may
receive a 3-year acupuncture diploma issued by HUTCM.
You can then apply to write licensing exams for
Acupuncture in Canada and the United States. After
the 4th year of study, you may receive a
4th year TCM education certificate issued
by HUTCM, with which you can take herbal license
exam or TCM Practitioner licensing exam held in
Canada and in the United States. You may finish
this 5-year program within 4 years.
Admission Requirements for Bachelor Degree in TCM:
High school diploma
Students for Master Degree in TCM: It is a 3-year program. You will study
2 years in OCAH and 1 year in
HUTCM. After the
first 1 year study, you will get a 4-year TCM
diploma issued by HUTCM, with which you can take
herbal license exam or TCM Practitioner licensing
exam held in Canada and in the United States if you
want. After the second year study, you will get a
5-year TCM diploma issued by HUTCM, with which you
can take Doctor of TCM licensing exam held in Canada
and the United States if you want. You may
finish this 3-year program within 2 years.
Admission Requirements for Master Degree:
Applicants
must meet at least ONE of the following criteria:
Registered / Licensed Acupuncturists
Diploma of 3-year Acupuncture with 2
year university level education
Licensed Physician
Bachelor's of Medicine
Tuition:
Tuition
fees will be $7,800 per academic year.
$1,000
should be paid on the first day of the school year
accompanied by six post-dated checks in the
approximately amount of $1,000 each, beginning the
first day of the second month through the first day
of the seventh month. Students who do not pay their
tuition on time will be penalized. Tuition will not
increase after enrollment.
Students should make allowance fore approximately
$500 in book costs and workshops per academic year,
which is not included in the tuition fee.
Accommodation in China
The
center provides free but good accommodation in the
Campus of International Students of HUTCM at
Changsha, Hunan, China. 8 months free to Acupuncture
Program students or Master Degree students in your
third year and 16 months free to Bachelor Degree
students in your 4th and 5th
year.
