Why should you choose our program?

1.     We have two training stations in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and you can get clinical practice and onsite assistance at these two stations in your local areas. The two stations ------ the S-T Natural Medicine and Acupuncture Centre, located in Bedford, NS (www.acupuncture-ns.com), and the Natural Healing Centre, located at St. John’s, NL (www.naturalhealingcenter.ca), both are the largest and earliest Acupuncture clinics in the areas.

2.     OCAH is the first Canadian acupuncture and TCM School recognized by NCCAOM,   you may be allowed to attend United Sates acupuncture license exams.

3.     The 3 years Acupuncture program (distance Education)  offered by OCAN is recognized by Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of Nova Scotia (www.ATCMANS.CA) and the national association the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada( Nova Scotia Chapter).  All  students completing the program successfully  will be accepted into both associations.

4.     You may transfer your credit in our distance education program to a higher level program. OCAH offers 5 year Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine program. If you want to become a doctor of TCM with a recognized doctor title, you may apply for your continuous study in OCAN. Additionally, OCAH’s credits have been recognized by Atlantic Institution of Oriental Medicine, Florida, USA, and Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Changsha, China, which can offer Bachelor and Master Degrees or Ph.D. Therefore, with our 3 year program diploma, you may apply for continuous study there for only 1 or 2 years to get Bachelor and/or Master Degrees.

5.     Our teaching team is excellent. It includes OCAH’s principal Dr. Ganglin Yin, who has published 5 acupuncture and TCM books. 2 of them are popular in acupuncture and TCM field in the North America and Europe, and our honorary principals and instructors Dr. Franklyn Chen, Dr. Diana Tong Li and Dr. Shengli Wang, who have been practicing acupuncture, including running an acupuncture and TCM College and treating patients, in Atlantic Canada for more than 18 years. They have very rich experience in teaching students and treating patients.

6.     You can study acupuncture and finish your program while you are still keeping your current job or life style. In every month, you only need to come to our local education station about 4 days. The station may be within several hours driving distance from you.

7.     You may get most efficient distance education. Our program is conducted by combining distance with onsite. In addition to getting information through internet, CD, mailing and telephone, you are invited to come to our NS or NL station regularly (about 4 days a month) so that you could have opportunity to take some lectures and ask instructors questions on site. With these advantages, you will study more efficiently and easily.  Additionally, you can finish the 3 academic year program within 2 calendar years.

8.     You may save time and traveling expenditure. As acupuncture program includes clinical training and practice, you have to come to an acupuncture clinic personally for a necessary period. This usually costs people a lot of time and money due to the school is located far away. You will not have this worry because our program provides you opportunity to come to our NS or NL station clinic, located just at your local area.

9.     OCAH has been designated as “eligible school”, you may get student financial assistance from the government. Please see “approved schools” in your province student assistance program websites.
