|
|
Dr. Wang began her career in healthcare in 1976 when she
received her Medical Doctorate from Peking
Union Medical
College in Beijing. Dr. Wang practiced internal
medicine at Peking Union Medical hospital for 3 years before receiving
specialized post secondary training in Hematology in 1979. She worked
in the hematology department for 8 years before receiving training as
an Allergist in 1987. She worked for two years as an allergist before
coming to Canada
on a post doctoral fellowship. In Canada
she studied the effects of acupuncture on allergies from 1989 to 1991
with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University.
She lectured on alternative medicine at Memorial University
from 1993 to 1996.
The results from her post doctorial research as well as her
personal history with TCM led Dr. Wang to pursue a license as a
practitioner of Naturopathy & Acupuncture in 1994, and subsequently
establish the Natural Healing Centre in 1995.
Also in 1993, Dr. Wang received a M.Sc. of Immunology from Memorial University. Currently, she is
studying nutritional-immunology and natural nutrition. This science
studies the health properties of foods. Unlike conventional nutrition
which focuses on macronutrients and vitamins and minerals, Nutritional
immunology believes that natural chemicals including phytochemicals
(from plants), polysaacharids, and antioxidants, which are mainly found
in plant foods, aid in the prevention and treatment of disease. Through
Dr. Wang’s research and practice she has seen the improvement of
hundreds of immuno-comprimized patients with diet change, and organic
nutritional supplementation. In other words, we can use plant foods to
support our immune system and in so doing help prevent many types of
disease.
Due to the need for high quality and affordable products at the
Natural Healing Centre, Dr. Wang founded Acta Herb Inc. in 1998 to
research natural health products. As the Chief Scientific Officer
(CSO) and product consultant for Actaherb Inc. Dr. Wang brings to the
company over thirty years of experience in research and development.
Dr. Wang is the chief doctor of the Natural Healing Centre,
