Letter from the Principal (Mission Statement)

Oshio College of Acupuncture and Herbology (Canadian-Pacific College of Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture) was established in 1999.  We are registered with the Private Post-Secondary Education Commission of British Columbia (PPSEC), and recognized by the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Acupuncturists of British Columbia (CTCMA).  In 2001 Oshio College was accredited by PPSEC, and designated as an “eligible college” by the British Columbia Student Assistance Program.

We provide 3, 4 and 5 year programs which are constantly being reviewed and improved to ensure we meet and exceed the requirements of the CTCMA.  It is also our objective to provide our students with the highest possible standard of theoretical knowledge and clinical experience of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) so all students  will be successful in their TCM careers.

We regularly review our programs to ensure they meet the United States NCCAOM requirements for those planning to practice in the U.S.A. Oshio College is the FIRST Canadian school of oriental medicine on the list, “Institutions Evaluated by AACRAO” (American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers).  This allows our students to write the U.S.A. license examinations and practice internationally.   See www.nccaom.org for more information.

Oshio college has two sister schools. The first school is Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine (ATOM) located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA. Credits earned at our college are recognized by the institute.  There, you may study TCM for one academic year and receive your Bachelor Degree of Science and Masters Degree of Oriental Medicine.  In order to do this you need to have three-years of TCM education in our college and have two years or more of post-secondary education background before you are enrolled into our college.  The second sister school is Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine located in Changsha, China.  If you wish to spend your last school year in China studying and practicing TCM, you may go there.

With a highly qualified and very experienced team of  instructors, smaller class settings, ocean and mountain view classrooms, and a very high success rate with student satisfaction,  we are sure that you will reach your goal while attending our college.

We warmly welcome you in joining us to support,  improve and care for human health.

Dr. Ganglin Yin
